EVOO – Food pairing advice: Tesoro
“Riches do not consist in the possession of treasures, but in the use made of them.” cit Napoleone Bonaparte.
Nothing truer for this Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Monreale, where the “great treasure” of a land kissed by the sun and the sea, Sicily, and the richness of its Cultivars (such as Biancolilla, Cerasuola and Nocellara) is transformed into an excellent product which encompasses great quality and taste (both aesthetic and on the flavour). Tesoro EVOO by Feudo Disisa is elegant in its olfactory and gustatory analysis, reminding us, with its hints, of its warm terroir of origin and the passion which guided its production.
Appearance & Visual Analysis
Tesoro EVOO has a lime green color mixed with lemon yellow reflections.
Scents & Olfactory analysis
Tesoro EVO oil has a rich vegetable scent, in which aromas of thistle, lettuce, green olive, red tomato and tomato leaf can be recognized. They are followed by hints of aromatic herbs with basil, a floral note of orange blossom and a fruity touch of apple and banana. At the end of the tasting, almond, white pepper and a delicate vanilla are recognizable.
Tasting: Aromas & Flavours
In terms of taste, Tesoro EVO oil is elegant and delicate. Vegetable aromas still prevail on the palate with notes of red tomato, thistle, lettuce and green olive. These flavours are followed by bitter almonds and pine nuts and refined hints of oregano. The bitter and pungent sensations are of the same medium intensity.
We love it with…
Il Tesoro is an EVO oil which accompanies and enhances the taste of vegetable recipes, traditional Mediterranean tomato pasta, raw fish and shellfish. Excellent to match also with mixed focaccia and fresh cheese platters.
For over a century, the Disisa Estate has belonged to the Di Lorenzo family who have had the intuition to discover the potentialities of its lands and, using the most advanced technologies, have managed to transform the original pasture and sowing fields into luxuriant olive groves . In the years between 1930 and 1940, the estate underwent its first great transformation thanks to the work of Mr. Mario Di Lorenzo who widened the production area both of vines and olive trees, radically changing the configuration of the territory agriculturally, economically and socially.
The estate has always been renowned for the excellent quality of its products, obtained through a combination of research , innovation and respect for tradition.
